I’m a Hero Too!® Is a children’s book that mentors young children and caregivers through the challenges of parental separation. The book is service agnostic and offered in two distinct versions - Daddy and Mommy. Both can be ordered from Amazon in digital form at the links below. Sample passages from each versions
The journey begins.
The book opens with the child contemplating her emotions on the parent’s departure. Subsequent pages find the child questioning their role in the parents departure including blame.
Positive thoughts.
In this sample, we expose children to thoughts and feelings toward positive activities and fond memories of the absent parent. Subsequent pages offer activities to engage the parent during their separation.
Parental engagement.
This passage gives specific examples of things to be shared with the absent parent to support and remind them of things they enjoy about their child.
The separation ends.
All twelve passages culminate in the parent returning home. It provides the child an opportunity for encouraged patience by knowing the separation will end at some point and they will be reunited with their parent.
